A Family trip to Baikal

Once staying home for quite a while and then going away from the city I found a great burst of enjoyment in everything that happens beyond the usual routine life. Even the smallest things like funny shaped old toilets along the road on our way to Baikal and the simple food in the road cafe which tasted deliciously ever!So there we started to the Maloye more on Saturday morning eager to catch still frozen Baikal lake. It was me who passionately wanted to touch its ice shield most of all. For those who don’t know, Baikal Lake freezes over in mid January and remains frozen until mid May usually. Usually, not always.

Волшебным образом мне удалось попасть на мастер-класс по обжигу керамики с загадочным названием «обжиг раку». На самом деле он состоялся еще в июне, но так как я почти сразу же уехала, то только сейчас решилась написать. Как говорится, самые настоящие воспоминания - те, которые помнятся по прошествии времени. Так как к керамическим горшкам я неравнодушна уже давно, достав пыльный обожженный горшок который я крутила еще будучи в университете, рванула на маршрутке в Листвянку. Начало мероприятия было запланировано на 11 часов утра в усадьбе Тюрюминых http://baikalsled.blogspot.ru/ . Это место само по себе загадочное и манящее. Здесь живут и трудятся увлеченные творческие люди: каюры, кузнецы, любители лошадей, а теперь еще и гончары.Мастер класс проводили мастера по керамике Татьяна Ерошенко и Сергей Пуртян  http://vk.com/terraslon. Magical bay on lake Baikal - "Sagaan-Zaba".

If anyone asks me about my favourite place on Baikal, I may talk about several places like that. But this bay "Sagaan-Zaba" is one of the most remarkable places and one of my favourite. Not many people have visited this place, as it is not so popular. But it is unique and has its own magical atmosphere. Cars cannot reach this bay, so you may get here only on foot or by boat from water-side. Dark cliff. White cliff. "Sagaan-Zaba" means "White Rock (cliff)" from the language of local people of Baikal. On the steep wall one may find petroglyphs - ancient rock drawings. When four hundred years ago, Cossack gangs invaded an unknown country and saw cave paintings, they decided that these were not just drawings, but letters left by its ancient inhabitants. Join an ice trekking on Baikal tour and Olkhon island in winter 2019!

Welcome to join our tour to wintry Baikal lake in Feb-March 2019! There are two persons at the moment. Special cost of the tour is 62 500 rub p/person for 8 days tour! Dates: 28 February - 07 March 2019. This is a new route which we decided to implement this wintry season on Baikal. It is a nice combination of sightseeing of places near Olkhon island - the biggest island on lake Baikal, with ice grottoes and beautiful icy shores and ice - trekking on Baikal.  Splendid sunrises, severe nature of Baikal lake, vast expances of ice around you during the trekking and overnight in tent on ice (heated by the stove) is a truly unique experience!
